Our Environment Action Plan



Erdoba Elegance Hotel strives to make the internal audit mechanism in the administrative and personnel structure customized for each department in order to achieve the objectives that it creates in the Environmental Policy. Regarding the general management of the facility, environmental education, energy efficiency, water saving and waste management; it has been necessary to establish a technical committee for the examination and filing of all the data correctly and regularly and for the mobilization of the problem-solving mechanism. To this end, the Green Star Executive Team has been established to make the system more efficient.

Green Star Executive Team :

The Green Star Executive Team is a structure that meets in monthly periods and examines data in terms of training, energy, water, detergent and disinfectant, waste and general management of the facility, that makes decisions such as necessary technical support, repair or purchase for eliminating deficiencies, that informs, warns and inspects each department responsible on what to do, that presents all these conducts as a report to the board of directors of the facility and updates the green star file each month.

This team is conducting and planning to work according to the following topics in order to catch the Green Star criteria and to take these criteria everyday further.

Training

In order to be able to have a complete environmental awareness and to turn what is learned to into practice, it is necessary to act in a continuous training system. The facility aims to make the system dynamic by providing the personnel with periodical environmental training every 6 months and by ensuring that each personnel in each department have this training with rotation at least twice during the year. Department supervisors will present a list of participants to the Green Star Executive team before the training. It is aimed that the personnel perceive the seriousness of training by taking roll in each training and ensuring that the personnel participating in the training are definitely accompanied with the department manager and / or the managers they are affiliated to.

The trainings will be carried out by a professional environmental engineer consulting company. All the staff members who are in the facility will receive certificates by entering the trainings in rotation. As a result of taking roll, if the same person is to be trained for the second time, the level of education will be increased and applications in the facility will be questioned and the system will be developed together with the trainees to solve the environmental problems they see in their work areas. This system will continue to be continuous and a significant environmental capacity increase will be achieved.

Energy

In order to monitor the energy consumption more comparably, the laundry, boiler lines will be equipped with a submeter and this process will be applied to all the necessary places. The fact that the facility’s electricity and LNG consumption is continuously monitored and graphically compared with the previous months and years, will be the greatest guide for the facility in terms of monitoring energy efficiency. In order to make this system sustainable and easier to monitor, it is necessary to monitor LNG and electric charges separately from general usage. Every electric device must follow maintenance periods and get on time maintenance or repair.

The Green Star Executive Team will provide the measurement, monitoring, reporting and filing of general electricity consumption considering the capacities of the electrical devices used, as a result of monthly analyses on electricity and gas bills. This data will be added to the Green Star file and reported to the facility’s board of directors. In this way, it will be ensured that the management board is able to increase the monthly energy performances and to review the more efficient and feasible systems and to work towards modernization.

Water

Monitoring the amount of water used by the facility monthly by taking into consideration the amount of the personnel and the monthly stay of the guests, will ensure that this is compared with other months and the same month of the previous year and that, if there is an unusual condition, work will be done to eliminate this. Thus, no time will be lost to detect water leaks and damaged equipment. Reducing the water consumption to the lowest by using energy saving apparatuses will be at the beginning of these studies.

This work will provide quick solutions such as narrowing the area to be examined as a result of the works to be conducted by the Green Star Executive Team over the water bills, the water installation of the facility, washing machines and dishwashers, toilets and guest rooms, and identifying the problem source that needs to be focused as quickly as possible.

BThese reports will be added to the Green Star file to be discussed at the facility’s board meetings and directed to more efficient and feasible systems for maintenance, repair or modernization.

Detergents, Disinfectants and Hazardous Chemical Substances

YThe Green Star Executive Team will work with the housekeeping unit to ensure that all chemicals used for cleaning, disinfecting and other purposes have less polluting properties. In addition, this collaborative system will conduct continuous market research to identify the most environmentally friendly products and present them with a report to the managing and procurement unit. it is necessary that the supplied products be kept at certain levels of usage quantities and be sustainable by training the team to use them.

In this context, the Green Star Executive Team will create a program for the managers and the staff of the cleaning units to provide training on new products and usage quantities. All staff will participate in training and be certified. Trainings will be repeated at least once a year and at the time of exchange of products. These studies will be continuously recorded in the Green Star file by being reported by the Green Star Executive team.

Waste

Thanks to the environment trainings provided periodically to the facility personnel by a technical team who are experts in their fields, capacity increase on the subjects of which wastes are packaging wastes, how these should be collected will be realized. It will be ensured that the use of waste oil, packaging waste and watery trash containers installed at the facility is inspected and encouraged by rewarding the best performing personnel or department.

As a result of continuous training, the staff will be encouraged to show the same sensitivity in their own homes and to separate waste.

Monthly data of the amount of watery trash weights, the amount of packaging waste and the amount of oil waste will be recorded, and these data will be reported by the Green Star Executive Team and will be added to the Green Star file. A noticeable finding will be addressed, and this chain will be tried not to be broken. For this, the Green Star Execution Team needs to supervise every department supervisor and make untimely checks.
